Notes and recommendations
Chata generála Milana Rastislava Štefánika (1740 meters AMSL) at the foot of Ďumbier is opened all year round.
There are no technical challenges along the way, but, depending on the season, deep snow may render parts of the trail difficult to traverse (you can use snow shoes).
The section described is part of a more extensive several days hiking tour from Telgárt at the south-eastern edge of the Low Tatras to Donovaly across the entire Low Tatras main ridge (or vice versa).
To get to the Čertovica mountain pass or to Ďumbier by public transport you can use the train to Liptovský Mikuláš, and from there make a bus ride to Demänovská Dolina.
