Notes and recommendations

Winter: It’s a technical ascent especially on the last fifty meters, so Crampons and an Ice Axe are mandatory equipment items in wintry conditions (checking the avalanche reports in advance has to be a matter of course). With snow obstructing the way, you need roughly about one and a half hours from Karb (“Gap”, 1853 meters) to the peak.

Summer: With favourable ground conditions and weather, you need roughly fourty-five minutes  from Karb to the peak. A helmet is probably a good idea (also in winter), for on a summer day with fine weather there might be many people on the trail (loose rock may tumble down).
