Summer weekend in South Bohemia: Třeboň, České Budějovice

South Bohemia (Jihočeský kraj) with its capital České Budějovice (Budweis) is one of 14 regions in the Czech Republic (aka Czechia).

Located in the very south of the Czech Republic with immediate borders to Germany and Austria (we traveled via Linz to Budweis), this rather secluded region with its picturesque landscapes is a perfect setting for long romantic walks and for extensive cycling or hiking tours.

Ascent to Poludnica (Low Tatras)

Description

Hiking tour from ľanovo (on 653 meters) to Poludnica (1540 meters AMSL) on a blue marked path, descent on a yellow marked path to Rakytovica (1070 meters), and from there to Liptovský Mikuláš.

Poludnica is a peak in the Low Tatras (Nízke Tatry) mountain range in Slovakia.

Ascent to Ďumbier (Low Tatras)

Description

Hiking tour from the Čertovica mountain pass (1232 meters AMSL) to Ďumbier (2043 meters AMSL), and further to Chopok (2024 meters AMSL) and Kamenná chata pod Chopkom.

Ďumbier is the highest peak in the Low Tatras (Nízke Tatry) mountain range in Slovakia.
