Orla Perć

Ascent to Kozi Wierch (High Tatras)

Description

Hiking and climbing tour from Kuźnice (1011 meters AMSL) to Kozi Wierch (2291 meters AMSL) on parts of the Orla Perć (“Eagle’s Path”), namely the section between Kozia Przełęcz and Przełączka nad Dolinką Buczynową.

Kozi Wierch is a mountain in the Polish part of the High Tatras (Tatry Wysokie) mountain range, and Orla Perć has the reputation being the hardest marked mountain tour in the High Tatras.

Notes and recommendations

Fitness and endurance in high altitude climbing is essential. Like on the also red marked one-way trail to Świnica, turning back is not allowed (except in case of emergency).

Despite its difficulty, this mountain tour is very popular and crowded on days with fine weather so I recommend starting early or doing it rather not on a weekend.

I also highly recommend wearing a helmet on the entire trail.
